    The Daily Dish - September 20, 2010

    I hate Sundays.

I honestly hate them.  I used to love them.  Some of my fondest memories as a youth were waking up on Sunday mornings in the mid to late eighties, and being unable to think about anything else except the Browns game.  Sunday should be such a great day, especially cool autumn ones here [...]

I’m taking my son to his first Buckeye game tomorrow.  Actually gonna head down tonight and spend the night down there before heading over to the Cotter Tailgate in the AM.

As you get older, your memory fades on a lot of things.  But there are certain memories you will always carry with you.  For me, [...]

Well, it looks like we now know what will replace the LeQuitter James “We Are All Witnesses” banner.  And I really like the choice:

Very cool.  Big ups to Sherwin Williams.

In related news, according to new sports marketing research, LeQuitter is now the 6th most hated athlete in all of sports.  And just 14% of sports [...]

It’s all coming to a head with the corruption scandal in the city of Cleveland.  County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora was arrested this morning by the FBI and a slew of additional arrests are expected today.  Former County Auditor Frank Russo was arrested last Thursday, and is expected to plead guilty in exchange for leniency for [...]

My son Nicholas is obsessed with Halloween.  He somehow jedi mind tricked me into buying him a $60 Darth Vader costume … A MONTH AGO.  It’s got everything.  The cape, the helmet, gloves, the full body suit … and even some $15 contraption that replicates the Darth Vader breathing noise.

Needless to say, he’s got this [...]

Leave it to the Browns to screw up a great weekend.

Friday night, pick up McDonalds on the way home.  Set the living room up with all the pillows and blankets on the floor and watch movies with the kids.  Kids, wife, all sleeping by like 9:30 … I get to watch sports the rest of [...]

It’s a football weekend here on the north coast.  The Ohio State Buckeyes play host to the Miami of Florida Hurricanes at 3:40 PM on Saturday, and then the Browns open their season in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers on Sunday.

It doesn’t get much better than that.

Like an idiot, I got married on September 13th.  [...]

It’s back baby.  The Starbucks pumpkin spice latte.  I’m not a huge fan of flavored coffees, and as recently as 3-4 years ago, openly mocked people who drank lattes.

Then I saw the light.  This is the best coffee drink made.  I feel like I’m ready to fight Tyson (the 2010 version, not the 1986 version) [...]

How ‘bout them Buckeyes?  Talk about an impressive performance.

The tone was set right away last night when reserve linebacker Dorian Bell delivered a bone crushing hit on the opening kickoff, resulting in a fumble that the Buckeyes recovered, and then immediately capitalized on.  The offense looked excellent.  Terrelle Pryor looked much more technically sound than [...]

    Buckeye season is here.  Finally!

While I would love to be going to tonight’s game (is there any better feeling than walking into a packed Ohio Stadium) … and be at Matt and Joe Cotter’s excellent tailgate party (which is like 200 yards from The Shoe) … I’ll have to settle for the alternative: racing out [...]
