It’s the end of August. I know we all say this every year, but man did the summer months fly by this year. Hard to believe tomorrow is September, and football, falling leaves, school busses and tailgate parties are upon us. I love fall, but I’m not ready for this summer to end.
What amazing weather [...]
Michael Vick – six years, 100 million. To quote Huckleberry Hound, Lassie, Old Yeller, Marley, and Astro from the Jetsons … wow. Talk about second chances.
And Jim Tressel is unemployed.
According to this column, text messaging was a 21 BILLION dollar industry in 2010. Which means it is likely to be a 30 billion + industry [...]
Had my big fantasy football draft yesterday. Our 22nd year doing it. My buddy Lefty and I started it when we were 12 years old. Schemed up in the Willowick Public Library. 32 teams and counting the co-owners, over 40 guys in the league. One guy flew in from Washington state for it. Another from [...]
Scarlett Johansson is headed to Cleveland. At least that was the rumor. But new rumors suggest she’s been in Ohio for the last week. A couple of the gossip mags are reporting that she’s not been staying at the Ritz or the Renaissance … but at the Hampton Inn in Wilmington, OH under the alias [...]
I’m not saying the Indians are done. But at this point, the chances of Scarlett Johansson asking me to take her out for a night in the city when she’s in Cleveland filming “The Avengers” next week may be more likely. Or peace in the Middle East.
Jim Thome coming back to Cleveland? It’s possible. We [...]
In what is the best news I’ve heard since Austin Kearns was designated for assignment, production has finally begun on season #5 of “Mad Men”. It will begin to air in March of 2012. During The Dish’s latest hiatus, I finally got caught up on this amazing show, finishing up season #3 and watching season [...]
It’s slipping away from the Indians. Another gut-wrenching, last-inning, all coming down to a bang-bang play at the plate loss last night has extended the Tribe’s losing streak to four games, and at the worst possible time. Detroit won again last night, and the Indians are now 5.5 games behind the Tigers. Since their 30-15 [...]
Oy vey. Not a good weekend for our Cleveland Indians. The Erie Warriors were swept out in Detroit, and are now a season high 4.5 games out of first place. Yesterday’s game was a heavy application of salt in the wound, as the newly acquired Ubaldo Jimenez got lit up like the Griswold house in [...]
How. Bout. THEM INDIANS! After losing the opener out in Chicago, the Tribe roared back these past two nights to take the series from the Evil Sox … behind the arms of a resurgent Fausto Carmona, a continually dominant Justin Masterson, and the best bullpen in the American League. Also shining for the good guys [...]
The Indians lost another heartbreaker to the White Sox last night, 5-4 in 14 innings. The Tribe is now 1-7 versus the Evil Sox this season, who have won nine of eleven, and are just half a game behind us in third place.
Modus operandi for the Tribe this week – split these next two games [...]
